overview
A complete redesign of the digital experience for Revista Semana, one of Colombia’s most influential journalism platforms.
The project addressed a critical business challenge: declining traffic and low engagement driven by an outdated platform, poor navigation, and accumulated technical debt. As user behavior shifted toward faster, more dynamic content consumption, the existing experience struggled to compete—particularly in mobile environments.
Beyond visual design, the core issue was structural: multimedia content was underutilized, and the platform lacked the flexibility needed to support the pace of modern journalism.

approach
The solution focused on rethinking the platform as a scalable, modular system rather than a fixed layout.
Starting with a mobile-first approach (representing over 90% of traffic), we designed a flexible UX/UI system that prioritizes clarity, speed, and content hierarchy. The experience draws from familiar interaction patterns found in social platforms—bringing immediacy and flow—while preserving editorial depth and credibility.
A key focus was elevating multimedia content. Video and dynamic formats were integrated as core elements of the experience, ensuring they are visible, accessible, and seamlessly embedded within the narrative.
The project resulted in a complete design system and component library, enabling consistency across the platform and scalability for future growth.

outcome
The redesign delivered measurable impact across key business metrics:
+5.5% increase in active users (13M total)
+9.5% growth in engagement time
+2.2% increase in user interactions
More importantly, it established a foundation for continuous evolution—supporting both editorial teams working in real time and audiences expecting faster, more intuitive digital experiences.
